ok im having prob's getting things that work on the same voltage I think I need to go to my local club and have a natter with them as I am not sure what voltage I should be running this heli on as it is going to be a complete new set up i.e. battery ?, receiver ? (AR610 6 channel), gyro ? (Spartan Quark), servos ? there are too many (digital/anlog)
      too confusing

I placed an advert on BMFA for a Spartan Quark and have just got a new one for £25.
I'd try that if you've not got fixed up yet.
You can also get a better receiver for under £30 from there too.

Can't you just put normal heli gear in? Ds610 on cyclic and throttle, ds655 on tail, quark gyro and align 3-1 regulator, switch and glow start. Also isn't it just good practice to strip the engine rather than just fire it up? May sound like a chore but those who fly nitro strip and rebuild regularly taking maybe three hours to do the whole job.

          BTW. great heli.

I intend to completely strip the heli including the engine down to its basics and rebuild and repair or replace as needed
which is why I am replacing all the electrics
as some its are missing and other bits are corroded
and just to add to the complexity this is only my second heli lol

OK well all the servos and regs and gyros in my post work on the same voltage and can be bought second hand for little money, you just need a 2s lipo or life battery and the regulator will do the rest. I prefer lipo because you can accurately gauge the remaining voltage. Good luck with the resto

yes any normal heli gear will be ok
but the higher spec servos etc are not needed on a vintage model as they are very over kill
battery choice is whatever the owner is happy to use
a 2500mah nicad/nimh battery will fly the 47 all day
a glow lead/avto ignitor isn't needed as you have direct access to the glow plug on the engine

how difficult do you think they would be to make

I read somewhere and now I can't remember where but a Splatter guard was used, and I suppose if your a bit handy with some snippers you would be able to fashion one out of it.
