  • First toe into scale, where to start....

OK so I've been thinking about getting myself a scale heli again, and as a kid growing up in the 80's it was Airwolf we all loved so hey why not join the boring masses in getting one myself...

But where do I start on this? It looks like either way I have to buy a new heli, as the 500efl doesn't fit in a 500 fuselage as far as I can tell. So I'm either looking for a 500 or 600 sized airwolf fuselage. Thing is from what I can see the 600 kits all need 600 ESP mechanics, which are also rare as rocking horse do dars...

I found this which looks good with CNC retracts

Airwolf 600 size Scale Fuselage with CNC Retractable Landing Gear not Funkey | eBay

Slightly worried a 600 might be a bit big storage wise. A 500 could probably live on the shelf where the 600 might have to go in the shed.

Where the darn it do I start? lol

Does the 550e fit the 30 fuselage? That is what I was originally thinking but I couldn't find a definitive answer.

        Hi Pete,

If you just want to dip your toe -then I still have my 500 airwolf fuselage gathering dust (took my 500 air-frame out of it ages ago), it has a few minor blemishes after storage but could be of some use to you. Here are the original build pics Airwolf Build

Drop me a pm if you want to see it (not a million miles from you - just north or Ringwood).

        Cheers,
        Simon

          i don't know
the raptor 30 and shuttle fits so if you see a rappy about and a 550e then compare the airframes
the rappy did have problems with the pitch arm clearing the upper part of the body
