No, that one was fine. The black TFM head is the one that tweaked.

As you can see I have had several post's with zee ref my head he has now got me worried

With regard to the silver one you want personally I think it looks the part but practically I think its grossly over engineered , what I saw last week end with my mates 3 blade version of the same head was bad! it only had about a dozen flights on it and the play/slop was bad to the point that the heli was shakeing its self to pieces

What the alternative?? Roban? vario? maybe rather than piece a scale bird together, get something tried and tested, not sure got that kind of money though.

Had that one too... Swash is garbage and weighs approximately 100 tonnes, give or take. The two screws that hold the grips on go through rubber o-rings that are rubbish - run them loose and they are way too loose, tighten it down and a grip will slip and not move back. Awful, awful design.

You can replace the rubber O-rings with solid bushings if you can find some/get some made and that would fix my main complaint, along with a new swash. Overall quality was so/so but not too bad.

I've had the first silver one in this thread from sportsmoto too - that was pretty good actually for the 3-4 flights I used it, but I wasn't a big fan of the swash. Replacing it with a better swash would be easy enough and change the arms... It is a bit heavy and the grip arms were too thin IMO.


The TFM head is the best mid-budget head I tried, until it tweaked off centre. I've never read of it happening to anyone else so I think it was most likely a freak occurrence... The roban head is the same basic design (albeit with plastic grips) but looks to have a beefier hub. I'm sure quickuk could source the md500 head?

I have finally settled on the PSG-Dynamics head, but I think that is a ridiculous amount of money.... Especially since they don't include a swash. It is however beefy, well made, good design and fits the md500 look perfectly.
