having a weekend away from "the Lady" to spend time with my other lady - my gorgeous girlfriend in Derbyshire. I guess that makes my heli "the Mistress" really? rofl.

Worked last night on the navigation lights - installed port side (red) marker light (LED). Sorted the strobe frequency of the engine cover (red) LED and the tail boom (white) LED to a realistic flash rate (gives me an excuse to watch the Airwolf series 1 to 3 box set DVD's LOL) - will install the starboard side Friday night and see about taking a short video of them all working to upload....

No I believe that kit is from a German supplier. Have considered how I could modify this one to have retractable gun pods and a deployable ADF pod - thinking how I could do this along with the retractable landing gear and the nav lights with channel 7 and 8 of my Tx.. at the moment I plan to use micro switches operated by the servo horn on a miniature servo for positions 0, 1 and 2 of the aux switches.

My cousin Brad is a dab hand with paint - he does RC car bodies all the time as he's into RC drifting etc. What he can't do with an airbrush is not worth knowing! He has offered to lay the paint on for me. Having problems locating the right shade of Dupont Phantom Grey effect paint though

Settled on Ford Graphite Grey for the upper section of the body - at least a base coat or two and then will see about having a custom paint tone mixed if it needs altering darker a shade. Spoke to DuPont and they say that they have no Phantom Grey paint shown listed any more other than aviation paint for Bell Helicopters but that's a special paint in huge quantities and they cannot rattle can it.
For the lower section which most people assume is white, I've settled for an off-white (think it was a VW or Vauxhall colour) as it is actually a grey-ish white with custom perl finish on the actual heli used for the TV show.
Funny how you just assume it's gloss black over gloss white until you open a huge can of worms and find out it's not!!

the funky/century 30 size fits the shuttle
but please learn to fly the shuttle first
how's the shuttle going?

Yes, I'll echo that sentiment.
If you're used to flying 50 size helis where power is available on tap, then you are in for a right surprise with the Shuttle. Learn to fly it without the body on first. Get to grips with just how little power it has and how the collective simply isn't available as and when you want it. You have to fly the aircraft and not just rely on shear engine power. Then, it's gonna get even worse when you wrap all that heavy and wind catching body around it.
There's not much wrong with the mechanics, it's just a very different thing to fly than 50s and above.
