  • Airwolf/Trex 60

After reading all these posts regarding the airwolf- I've decided I want one too!!!-managed to source a Century 60 airwolf body kit and retracts- will this fit my Trex 600 without too much hassle?

What servo's would you recommend for the retracts and I'am asuming I will have to use a seperate power source for the retracts- would this be correct?

Can I use the standard tail/belt tube or would I have to convert to torque tube as some "other" forums have stated..... Need help before I spend more money ..

Forgot to state I will use standard motor(600L) and FP Evo 20 4900 along with Futaba 3152's or higher and Spektrum DX7..
    Thanks, lenny

    • I think the 60 one may be a bit big, mine and Jims are 50`s..

I run the retract servos off the main Rx power supply thru the gear channel 5

I also use Dx7 on mine and its good,i am using the belt drive, its a bit fiddly to hook up but works fine, cant comment on the torque tube drive but it is probably easier to install

My scale one has 3152`s and the stock 600L motor/esc

I am using Hitec servos but i cannot remember the number, the retract servo holes in the wood are smaller than standard servo size but bigger than micro servo size,,these Hitecs fit perfectly

My up and coming test flight will be videod and i will post it for all to see,,i am happy to answer whatever questions i can regarding putting the 600 into a fuselage

          • Thanks to everyone on this- yes,I've seen the one on ebay but phoned up LHC and like Raptor50luvver states-it's a bit too big for my 600...

Looks like I'll try and source a 50 size instead..

              • I have just been looking at Centurys website and their pre painted ones are incorrect,,

A they are black or too light a grey
B The white is wrong at the front,on the underbelly its too far forward and on the sides in front of the turbine inlets it is going diagonally upward toward the back when it should only come up a bit and around the lower part of the turbine inlet

Mark and Wayne have got it spot on,,just been studying some fullsize Airwolf pics and closely watching a DVD i have of the series

So ya balls`d up there Century

I had to do an educated guess on the grey as looking at pics etc, 99% of the pics looked black, but I think I got it pretty dam close.

Again, I must have had my lucky hat on the day I masked for the grey as Ok could get views of most of the lines etc, but the rear outlets of the turbines I guessed that they would curve around the outlets like they curved around the inlets at the front.

Hehe.. I had a look at the pilot episode before I painted Jimbobs and when I got his body kit, I was a bit shocked as in the pilot episode, it dosnt even have the turbine tubey things along the side of the heli (obviously did the heli on the cheap for the pilot episode just in case it never took off (the series that is, not the heli lol!))

                  • You did good Mark the colour and lines look perfect to me

Its deceiving on the telly as you said, most of the time it looks black but when its on the ground and they are stood by it there is a definite gunmetal look to it..

                    • Flew foxy again today - here's the pictures to prove it

Not quite as windy as Sunday, but still a bit breezy. Got a few retract issues to sort out, and need to do some work on the lighting, gun ports and window glazing...
