  • I have a Bell222 in build and I plan to run one battery for the retracts a small 4.8v 700-1000 ma battery and then power the rest of the electronics as normal.

I don't think adding a small battery will add enough weight for me to worry about it....

      • Well you used to get the 700ma 4.8v r/x batterys in futaba T/X kits not a lot of use with a 2.4ghz set's to be honest but a 700ma battery should last for plenty of flights as well.

        • Change of plan,i have decided to abandon the conversion mainly because i dont fly it often enough and there will be little if any benefit to it.

Also wont have to worry about the power supply issue, but i will be fitting the silver head from my 600LE onto it so that will make it look nicer.

              • Flew it yesterday for the first time in over a year,it has become a bit of an ornament at home so a quick dusting down and checkover was needed.

                      • well just to be a complete nut job and throw a big old spanner in the 'scale' works - i have a set of RJX Xtreme 50 mechs that i'm planning to shoe horn into a century 50 or 60 sized airwolf fuse this summer - that way i can play 'scale' and when i get bored of that (after about five mins - had a 60 vario 222 in the past) i can make like the tv series and speed things up a little. Anyone know how much bigget the 60 is compared to the 50 fuse?

                        • Well it hasnt flown since May 2010 in fact i ripped it apart and stuck it in the cupboard for a future fbl conversion.

That culminated in its return to flight on Saturday with RJX head now,Blue V bar,Jive 100LV and Z Power z50 motor that in the vid has a noisy bearing that was cured with a drop of oil for the further two flights after the videod flight.

                          • Hi Chris,

Nice to see the Airwolf flying again mate.

I'm now inspired to take mine back out - its not flown since the RCHA event and its sitting in my office looking pretty - so it's probably time to get it airborne again soon.

They look so good in the air!

                            Cheers,
                            Simon
