  • Century UK - Dolphin CX

    I was just wondering whether anyone on this forum has purchased a Century UK Dolphin CX?

    I have seen them advertised in a yellow scale body, but up to now only the blue one with a white stripe is available from the UK site.

    I am wondering whether I have a gyro problem, as sometimes the nose / tail does a quick instantaneous 90 or 180 turn as as I wind her up. The heli is new and maybe only with about 45min of flight time. Other than that the quality is supreme and beautiful to fly and well built.

    Also, I posted another thread sometime back on an issue - the throttle curve on the standard TX seems too steep, if that the correct way to put it. There is no slow gradual ris ein speed / torque - it is instaneous, like a DOL electric motor.

    Anybody got oen of these?
    Mini Titan E325;
    Blade 400, Blade CX2 - Xtreme Upgrade;
    Century UK Dolphin CX; Belt CP, Belt CP v2;
    TX DX6i (plus others);Phoenix flight sim; Spares - a lot of them!
    Picooz - quite a few of them & Schweizer 300 (this is where it all started);

    Hi there,

    There is no 'throttle curve' in the Tx supplied, it is just a linear output. If you slowly open the thottle the blades should start and spin very slow accelerating as you open throttle.

    There is a quirk with the gyros in all the Century co-axials. If you open the throttle and hold them on the floor the top blades will often stop. Once the blades are turning you need to get off the floor without hesitation. This effect is from the gyro trying to turn the heli which is stopped by the floor, so it goes to its extreem which is to stop the top rotor. It may be this you are seeing causing the heli to swing on lift off.

    Hope this helps.
