Looking good dude.... can't wait to see it fly!

There is nothing to apologise for in favouring scale and i for one love to see smooth tidy flying that's needed to show them at their best. Although i am keen to learn some funky 3D moves i also love wizzing around in smooth FF flight and may be tempted by a scale heli later on.

      Cool heli mate.

Start to lean it a bit mate, then that will probably remove that slight vibration also, my 700 had vibes when i was first running it today, but as soon as i started to lean it out they went.

                      That looks really nice.

I am building one myself and flew it for the first time yesterday after an initial check over and hover trim from our club's heli expert - thanks Kerhs

Mine has a three blade flybarless head with matched NHP carbon blades in place of the standard Hirobo woodies. I have a Helicommand fitted to tame the head so first flights were with training U/C in case I had made any mistakes with the Helicommand setup (complicated little sucker). In fact it was pretty much of a pussy-cat to fly although we found that the Hirobo instructions for setting the tail pitch lever gave far too little pitch in one direction. Balancing that up improved matters greatly.

Flying continued until a couple of bolts came loose - one on the head and two engine mounting bolts

I'm now going over the whole machine - double checking the locktight

If you are interested, I made up a small electronics circuit to handle a green LED behind the instrument panel plus red and green nav lights, flashing anti-collision lights and a switchable (from a spare channel) landing light. I can post details if you want.

Lastly, the Hirobo Lama seems to be (loosely) based on the full size machine registration HB-XTO. A Google search will give you loads of great pictures of the real thing in case you want to up the scale detail at some time.
