  • .50 size Electric Heli for Scale

I am a self confessed addict to the Align T-Rex 600E helicopters and despite the fact they are a huge overkilll for scale donations mechanics I still tend to use them.

If I were to consider another option, which direction should I go in to get a reasonable quality electric heli or should I look at specific scale mechs? If that is the case, what manufacturers apart from Vario and Century heli mechs?

Also, in someoes opinion what is the best all roundwebsite that has a great selection of all thigns heli scale?

    Regards and thanks in advance.

if you want to go scale with it have a look at the graupner uni-mechanics that Martin Briggs (from martin briggs models) uses to great effect
graupner have a good range of scale bodies as well
      Hirobo Turbulence D3
      a bunch of bls servo's and a 701 gyro
Powered by an OS91 hz and a MP2

One thing I forgot to mention is that also, and most important is that I must be able to convert it to a 4 rotor head.

I will go and have a look at that site now. Is that the guy who runs rotorsport?

Forgot about Mr Briggs... Martin Briggs who runs the Rotorsport Shop in Ledbury is someone you might want to get in contact with. I know Martin quite well, and he always has some good stock of Graupner stuff.

the 4 blade head is no problem
if graupner don't do a 4 blade head then the vario 4 blade head will fit straight on (from the sky fox/extreme)

If you want 50 size mechanics for electric I'd consider the Raptor E550/620. These fit into most fuselages suitable for a Raptor 50 with minimum modification and you can run the E550 with a Raptor 50 boom and 600mm blades, still on a 6S 5000mAh lipo pack. With this setup in a Funkey Hughes 600E I can comfortably get 7 minute flights.

im gonna get slated for this but
Century Hawk E conversion with a Mega 22/45/3 in it will then drop straight in the century scale bodies and rotor head, plus its about £150 for the airframe and about £100 for the motor, then you can use your existing lipo's for the power and you only need a 60A ESC to run it, (i still have the correct pinion and motor mount if you go this route)
Why is the ground to high
