  • Site down?

    I get the following message:

    Hi

You shouldn't really have got here...

But you have, most probably because the site you wanted is not available.

    Why might that be?

Well, the owner of that site may have decided not to carry on with it and the site isn't active but the domain still resolves to this server.

Or they didn't pay their bill, and we're not a charity.

Or we made a mistake configuring the server; it happens once in a while...

Try Lance Electronic Publishing as a start point, phone us if you think the site should be up and we'll try and help.

    Any ideas?

    Jamie

We have nothing to do with Lance Electronic Publishing.

              http://www.lance.co.uk/

Midland Site seems to be running fine from my end.

I get straight through, have to deleted your cache and refreshed to see if its still the same. DNS usually takes a few hours to get round the whole network depending on who your with. Maybe that they've changed servers or host providers and the DNS still needs resolving by your ISP. Especialy if shifting fixed IP's its amazing how some ISP take forever to update thier system. AOL are one of the worst.

Talk Talk maybe up and running fine, but unless they on thier system recognise the IP that Midlands site sits on you'll never see it. Thier system needs to have the TAG and IP info from Midland's hosting company to enable thier system to resolve the IP. Until this is done you'll be looking at a error message all the time. This usually only happens when a site is moved from one server to another or a new and up and coming hosting company that has not been set up on the main players servers yet.
