  • Back to the Future with a Raptor 30V2 nitro

I have been out of the heli scene for a good few years now, progressed a bit with last heli being an Atom 550. But I've the urge to fiddle around with a nitro again. So I have picked up a mint retro Raptor 30v2 nitro for some general sports flying, but it needs electrics.
I am asking if you guys could kindly help speed up my online shopping list and suggest best flight / onboard battery option and if any regulator is required. Since being away from helis for a bit, I'm not up to speed on the latest regulators or gadgets needed.
    Servos going in :
    Futaba S3010's cyclic
FUTABA S9253 digital tail servo with a classic GY401 tail gyro.
    FRSKY DR8 II receiver.

maybe a LiFe battery but what regulators?

    cheers
    Gav

edit: I recon I will just get a 2 cell LiPo and a 10A regulator.

Its quite hard recommending a regulator nowadays for your setup.

A couple of years back there were lots readily available and all suited to run 6 volts with 5.2 volts for the tail and throttle servo's.

Now with High voltage servo's being the norm most of the regulators are expensive due to the high current of the latest high voltage servo's and usually they are one voltage rather than dual which i assume is what you are looking for.

I think for your purpose I would recommend the hobbywing 10 amp and set it to 5 volts.
