  • Raptor 90 needles ....

Hi guys back again and iv bought a Raptor 90 SE off a friend who bought it as a kit many years ago and built it but just left it at a mates house with no cover over it so iv completely stripped it for cleaning and checking .... My problem is when i stripped the carb for cleaning i forgot to take note of how many turns the Metering Needle was out form factory ....

The other needle is 3 turns out but for some reason i cant find out about the Metering Needle .... Iv been looking on the net and phoning different shops in the UK but there isn't any info nor do the guys i rang seem to know ....

Everything is brand new so i want to start the engine from factory settings and then tune accordingly .... Iv been looking now for a week and i'm ready to give up soon .... Thanks guys ....

Edit .... Its the standard Thunder Tiger Pro 90 H engine ....

ah your talking about the idle mixture,.... adjustment is covered in that manual,.... as in rich or lean,.. but here is a good starting guide for the mixture screw,.... open the carb slightly and put a piece of fuel tube on the fuel inlet nipple.
blow down it and adjust the idle mixture screw until you can blow through it whilst feeling a resitriction ...
if you shut the carb fully you shouldnt be able to blow down the inlet at all.
that shoud get you to a stage where it starts and then adjust as in the manual
        hope this helps

Yeah the manual does cover the tuning side of things but i wanted a base to start from so i needed to know how many turns out it was .... I will give your suggestion a go when i have the heli built back up .... Thank you ....
