  • Level flight affected by head speed, Is that normal?

I have just installed and got working a Governor on my FB Raptor 50 Nitro.

It now has a strange dipping of the nose in fast forward flight, Is this to be expected?

What I have done it install the governor and set U1 and U2. I have set the new head speeds to roughly what they used to be.

I never flew much in U2 as I didnt like having the engine sound like its over reeving when there is no pitch (obviously the governor adjust it now)and only really flew in U1 but what I have noticed is that in fast forward flight in U2 the nose seems to want to dip down all the time and wont fly straight, it didnt do this in forward flight in U1 and the only real change is faster forward speed.

Any thought on why this is happening, is it this normal as it is faster in U2, or should I be looking somewhere else for a problem.

    Any help appreciated

Constant head speed, or lack of will effect level flight. If the head speed drops significantly you will loos some lift and might explain the loss in altitude. That said there might be something ells going on here, an incorrectly trimmed padel can also result in the heli climbing out or dipping. In your case, if you are certain that the governor is holding and that your CFG is still correct after the installation of the governor then angle up the paddles.5 degrees at a time till the issue is resolved.
