does any one hand paint canopies as opposed to spraying/airbrushing them and if so what paint would you use for something detailed?

If I was going to hand paint then I would use the cheap range of acrylics from hobbycraft:
DecoArt Crafters Neon Acrylic Paint 59ml In Blue - Hobbycraft | Craft Shop, Art Supplies
They are very cheap, have a wide range of colours, and you can mix them.
They are too thick to airbrush without thinning, but would go on well with a brush.
If you are flying nitro, or fly with people who fly nitro, you are going to need to clearcoat it with something fuelproof though, regardless.Logo 600 3D --- Vortex Vx1n

Just patched up my old canopy and sanded it down. Needs some filling and going to have an attempt at hand painting. Picked up some Acrylic paint on the weekend so looks like im on the right track. Just having trouble finding some good filler for the eerrr hmmmm "scratches" from where I plowed it into the ground.
