  • Which fluorescent airbrush paint? And airbrush clear question

    Hi guys,

I am after some fluorescent airbrush paint at a reasonable price. Any recommend brands which work well for fibreglass/plastic canopy painting? Really just after two colours (orange and yellow/lime)

I am planning to just use halfords canned clear coat or do you really get a better finish from airbrush ones?

    Cheers,

    Laurence

Edit: I have an airbrush + compressor already. Thanks all for the suggestions so far!

I got something very simular to This

I had it a few years ago for other jobs and the compressor makes it much cheaper in the long run.. IMO its better to use an airbrush.. you get much better finish and detailing if you want to do something special.. the link has two trigger guns which you can adjust the amount of paint aswell as spray pressure. I used the tamiya acrylic paints through it.. works fine and the acrylics flexible paint for plastics anyways.. clearcoat i would use Vallejo stuff.. they are all static model paints, so will work well

I'm just new here but on my rc car bodies I only use Parma acrylics. I love the fact that you can add a metallic flake. I have done some beautiful paint schemes that just sparkle in the sun. I also use a badger dual action airbrush that let's you control the flow of paint with the trigger. It is simple to use clean and adjust. With a little practice you can spray pencil lines to rattle can patterns just by how you move your finger. It goes for around $100 us. Also you can use any compressor.

i use auto-air colours i buy them from Airbrushes, Airbrush supplies and compressors, UK
you will need to do a white base coat first
i have also use paint from my local model shop the ones in the little tins cant remember the name( hummer) ?? i think that it is enamel paint so you need to thin it down with the enamel thinners
