Going to do my first Canopy

I am just about to paint my first canopy, can I use the following type of paint in my airbrush to paint it with? (I have never used the airbrush, I was given it to use with my compressor)

I have just found a jar of it in my tool box and if i can use it then it would save me buying some paint (I dont really want to spend much, as its only an old canopy that I want bright for everyday flying).

I assume I need to 'water it down' with white spirt?

enamel paint on it's own won't br fuel proof mate, you'll need to seal it somehow. I'd use automotive paints if you can, the finish once sealed is much more durable. take a look at the airbrush tutorials on youtube as well, there is a mine of information there.

Its done!!

The black is paint from my wifes old car and the green is from my car. I know its not great but it was an old canopy I repaired, so i have not spent any money on it as its just to go on my 600 hack.

looks good, make sure you put a nitro fuel proof clear coat on it, otherwise the fuel will attack the paint and make it sticky / peel off

I wonder if I can get a decent result just using the spray cans used for touching up car paintwork.I've got a plain white Canopy that I will have a go on.

That's all I used. It's not perfect but I just don't have the skills to do a great canopy so it will do for my hack.

i use normal auto paint cans for most of my paint jobs and can get very good finish it just an matter of not rushing and sanding between coats i leave coats to dry 24hrs before sanding .
