Ok Guys, Which cheap airbrush do you think i should get? or should i get spray paint instead?

Also What panit for a airbrush?

you'd need 2 least. 1 for clear and large areas other for detail work small stuff.
Paint just anything from nail polish! to nitrocelluloses remember will be under some form of 2 pack/2K clear.Clear over base.
I've picked up nail polish on ebay trick colours ie metal flake, Pearl
Airbursh £15'ish small gravity feed gun about £30'ish but seen little cheaper on ebay.
Need to some form water trap for compresser...

need more detail? ask trying to get 600 ready to fly and came on here......doh

i use autoair paints when i do canopies its waterbased and non toxic. i use 2k clear that comes in an aerosol made by mipa.

Thats the same compressor that i use the only difference is i made two air tanks fron fire exstquishers.

i have the same compressor but i bought it with the tank aswell. works very well and i would recommend you get a compressor with tank.

btw i should add do not buy a normal compressor from b&q for example as it's best to have a proper airbrush compressor due to how they work.

glen, how is that clear your using now? our previous ventures with 2k aerosols did not bode well. taking months to become hard.

diaphragm compressor are OK however you need water trap. over long periods they get very hot so more water.

OK that ones not cheap But go into there shop and they have a corner with repaired/returns corner. I picked up Clarke Shhh Air 50/9 Quiet Run Compressor - Machine Mart for little over 200!! For ex's spray tans...bugger really wouldn't let me show her best to do them!! Couldn't for the life of me figure out why not!!? Young woman all but in naked and me standing in front of her just spraying her with a tan!! no harm ??

Normal compressor are OK just too dam noisy. Get largest tank as you can afford. When tank gets low you'll see pulse in spray Patten. Ok if your painting car wing/door its a pain but canopy you can work with it.

the clear i'm using now it mipa 2k clear in a can, it's very very good and goes hard within a few hours and is totally set within 24hrs, its what i have used on the canopys i've done recently and is definately fuel proof i tested it on my canopy a while ago.

This might get me painting again as I hated spraying clear through my small airbrush, it alays turned out rubbish and messing up the clear is very frustrating.

Ask in your local automotive paint shop, they will have clear coat with UV protection in it ( i think its made by upol), this will stop the colours fadeing in the sun light.
The clear coat doesnt have to be 2k, if useing 2K get yourself a good spray mask the fumes are really bad for you.

nice one glen, i bought the last stuff you tried and it gave an excellent finish but it didn't dry. i left a canopy for 3/4 weeks and then wrapped it in bubble wrap thinking it was ok. 3 months later i remove the bubble wrap and i can see all the bubbles in the clear coat......ARGHHHHHHHH

Paul, can you feel it in the lacquer or just see it? If you cant feel it, it may just be sweat marks caused by wrapping it up with a tiny amount of moisture present. If thats the case, a decent cutting/polishing compound will take them out no worries I work in the automotive industry and see these marks all the time - its a good indicator that the car has had some work done on it as a lot of poor quality bodyshops wont ever see/rectify them.
