I wondered about that - looked a bit faked to me.

Any reasons they don't use goblins for this? They are fairly light and very slippery too as far as I can see!

Goblins are fast but becuase of the big top part of the canopy they are not as sleek in the air and have a lot more drag.

They will be much faster than many others due to the tail.

So not as fast as the TDRs then?

Looks like the secret is in using gravity to pick up speed, so i suppose you are limited by drag rather than ultimate power... I wonder whatd happen if we put different heli's in wind tunnels?

Gravity will only get you up to a cetain speed for the rest you need ultimate power to get over all the induced, parasite etc drag. Tip a Goblin forward by 30-40 deg and you'll see why its not as fast. If it was not for its unique servo arrangement it could maybe have a slim profile canopy and therefore be quite a bit quicker.
I have also tried, instead of going in to a stall turn after a speed run doing a fast banked turn but this is fooking hard and scary at these speed but I think may be key rather than the stall as you waste all that energy whereas in a banked turn your keeping most of it

I think its a chandelle your describing ben . I've often thought this would be the best way of mantaining some of the forward momentum
