I was the pilot of this machine. It was pretty tragic but it was funny and will be remembered for a long time. No TDR clone here.. it does not even share the same canopy as a TDR. The owner of this machine is Danny Melnik, he has one of the two in the US.
The Suzi Laos is a very special project. All of the profit generated by this project goes to fund school projects in Laos. It uses the KDE Trex 700 DFC Head and stock Align tail. It has its own frame set, which looks fairly similar to the TDR but utilizes its own single stage gear drive system. The canopy is a one piece Carbon Fiber layup, VERY COOL! It ended up getting destroyed in the crash. He is running a 14s setup with a Scorpion 4540LE motor and a YGE 120 or 160HV ESC. For blades he choose the Matt Black 800mm by Spin Blades. Danny also has a TDR, but the Suzi is just something else. The TDR would not be able to take this kind of abuse and head speed with 800mm blades. Our experience with the TDR shows that it is better suited for 12s and 700mm blades.
The machine is an absolute BEAST! It's like flying a 450 sized machine..
He is already rebuilding it and I'm working on some new parts, in any case, it will be back flying in the coming months.
In response to a few of the above comments, I think the machine was flown in a very safe manner. All "risky" transitions or maneuvers were preformed parallel to the flight line or far enough out out of the danger zone. It is not necessary to risk our life's while flying a toy helicopter.

Enjoy!

With all respect, rubbish! That thing must have been doing 100mph+ and could have failed at any point during the flight.
Toy helicopter or not, the main body of it ended up 6 ft from the next flying station, how much does that part weigh? Risk your own life if you want, but not others! I'm glad I'm not a member of your club!
I bet when you fly most of the other pilots retire to the pits, does that not tell you something!
Nobody seems to care about anybody else in this world any more, its all me, me, me!

I stand corrected Rob, (they do look very similar to a TDR on pictures.)
The video was mental, TDR would not survive this as well.
