Why did you get asked to leave? Looks like it was completely deserted... do they have rules against flying RC there?

EDIT - ah just found the bylaws...

    No unauthorised person shall:
    a) fly a model aircraft, however launched or propelled,
Spoil sports... to be honest this is one of the reasons I stopped flying planks much. A heli you can take out anywhere with a spot small enough for a landing pad and go fly... A plank needs somewhere with more of a runway, which is pretty much gives most people the option of a public park or a club.

    However they do also say

No unauthorised person shall ride a horse on any part of the Commons during the period between half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise.
I'm surprised they don't allow for the shooting of a welshman with a bow and arrow between the hours of sun up and sun down on a Tuesday....

Interestingly the park Ranger said he thought it was only powered models that weren't allowed.
So I suggested flying a glider which he tentatively agreed to.

He needs to read his own bylaws then lol... "however launched or propelled" doesn't leave much room for argument!

I could always argue that it's not a model as it's not based on any full size heli.
But not worth it, the guy was friendly enough and even commented that he thought it looked interested and he liked my flight.

@ Paulo. Me causing trouble? Maybe a little hehe.

Read them again & you'll see you ARE allowed to fly WITH PERMISSION.

I think technically bye-laws is an accepted english spelling....

If you can't find anything prohibiting flying rc models then you're probably fine.

I think it's actually the other way round, it's whether it's in the bylaws that counts, if there is a sign up that says something is prohibited, but it's not in the bylaws then that sign isn't enforceable.

There's a few places like that round here, but when you check the local bylaws those locations are not mentioned, so aslong as they're public land the signs are not enforceable.

In this case the bylaws give Danny a possible way to fly on there..... become authorised, ask permission.
