  • T-Rex 700 FBL Turbine 3D

We have around 6-8 flights on this now, and it's coming along really nicely. Still a few tweaks to go, but generally very happy One of the biggest problems is there is now almost too much fuel on baord with the added tanks, meaning flight times of 12 minutes plus, which equals getting bored!

We will probably use one of the side pod tanks for smoke, no bad thing to loose a few minutes of flight time

That looks awesome Jamie and mixed with smoke in the flight would be even better.

Have to say I like you more "Sedate" style of flying too, Very nice mate.

looks great, have to ask, are the pipes coming out like that thrusting the model forwards atall?

Thanks for the comments, like I said though, still a bit of tweaking to do yet

Chris, no it doesn't create any appreciable thrust, the 2nd stage is very efficient at converting the thrust in to mechanical energy, and as such the gasses don't have much in the way of escape velocity (although they are incredibly hot!).

Not a chance is it going in to a scale body!

Rob, in sure I'll be there one of the days to demo either this, or more likely the Opti-Smoke Turbine N9 both machines will be at the Southern Model Airshow in September, and also Charmouth in October
