  • Trex 550 with my new Go-Pro

Just tried out my new Go Pro camera on my 550.

I didn't have the time to edit or add the usual intro stuff, so it's in the raw state, sorry about my ugly mug at the beginning, hope it doesn't put you off watching the rest of the vid.

Nice, easy to set up and use. Now all I have to do is understand how to upload full HD to You Tube. This was a huge file but I still only see a max of 420 - odd, must read the you tube guide.... edit - now it shows 720 - really must read the destructions....

Also managed another milestone today - nose in landings and take off's - two of them without incident, phew.

    Cheers,

very nice, found it hard to spot any vibes. Is this mounted using the mounts with the camera or something else?

gopro seems to be the way to go

Great flying Simon! Some inverted on the vid too
GoPro Excellent piece of kit. No more keychain cam.
You have to wait for YouTube to process the HD after uploading, before it gives you the 720/1080p option.
Vimeo.com is quite nice for HD uploads.

Hey, I know that flying field...

It's just a couple of rubber pads and some velcro tightly strapped to the bottom plate. Nothing special at all. To use the go pro mounts, the camera has to be in the plastic housing and that's too big to mount under the heli. One of the nice things is that you can mount the camera upside down and the software (when set) will invert the image so it's the right way up when viewed - nice and easy.

I'm waiting for a better camera mount to arrive, we will see if that offers a more secure mount.
