Now that's a hell of a pilot. Not only is a very tight spot to land in with more hazards than you can count, but what about the massive ground effect in between the buildings, wow!

The take off in the second video is just as impressive. Hats off to these guys.

Do real helis have any sensors or aids to help them land in such a tight spot? Awesome work. Beggars belief why the heli service is funded mainly by charity.

Amazing job, the only thing disappointing is that they should not have to rely on sponsors (virgin) for funding, come on government fund vital and important services like that properly!

Essex Air Ambulance In Grays Essex

I was working across the road to this (Blackshots Lane), a man that lived next to shop fell of a ladder in the garden & impaled himself on a fence post.. Ouch!
we see it land & I managed to get pics of take off on mobile phone, pure skill hats of to the pilot..

That explains why the Air Ambulance trusts go for the top military heli pilots.

Incredible flying indeed. I'd be interested to know what aids the pilot has to land with such precision. Definitely no Disco Leg that's for sure.

Not sure if these smaller helicopter have any sort of aids. But i think the larger SAR helicopters up here in shetland have a sort of 3-way autopilot that can pretty much lock them in postion at a stated altitude.
