Even the pro's can have bad days. Didn't look like he had many options though.

Very Lucky! Makes you wonder why he never landed in that field in the first place.

My thoughts exactly- seen a lot of RL RAF, CG and Air ambulance landings, but none as tight as that!!

Looking at the video it seems there is a ditch between the field and the road, it may be that was a consideration for the injured person, could be they had a neck or back injury, so getting them across into the field may have been far more trouble or risky than landing in a tight spot, still a bad choice though.

The best option would have been to look at another landing site further along the road somewhere that would have been more accessable (no ditch, or an access road) then drive them there in the back of the ambulance and transfer them to the helicopter.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

That was my first thought too or at least come back a bit and take off sideways to the left into clear air. Damned lucky that cable didn't hit the tail rotor too, all the bystanders would have been in serious danger too if it had pirouetted and tipped over as they have a tendancy to do.
I'll bet that pilot was beating himself (edit: herself ) up something cronic after that error!!

Very lucky it was the main rotor that hit the lines and not the tail.

Could have been so much worse.

I wondered why he did not back out of the confined space to give himself room for a bit of the old vertical
