  • Who needs a flying field? Tareq in Thailand!

In this sort of flight space you might think about a hover to tune the engine or trim the heli..... but then again, if your name is Tareq....

One popped link or jammed servo and he'll not do that again.

Things may be "awesome" but one day we are going to read about one of these top pilots having been killed doing stuff like this, or killing someone else, then I'm sure everyone will be changing their tunes.

Ok, ready for the BS that this post is going to get for speaking the truth, there is the fun police, and there is god damned common sense, funny how they get lumped together all the time when something is "awesome"....
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

It's a good question. My belief is his flying would probably not suit a competition that follows the current 3dc or 3dx format as that requires a number of different disciplines and set anoeuvres. Tareq would appear to be very 'smackdown' - suiting a display profile for more of a 'shock and awe' result. However, I am sure Tareq can do and would perform sets very well and would maybe even suit the newer 'Zone' competition format. Either way, great to watch and an ambassador for the hobby. He comes across as such a polite and down to earth guy and responds to every single comment left on his facebook, personally and sometimes there can be almost 40-50 comments needing responding to.

The video still blows me away - just consider doing what he has actually done; flown full 3d smackdown in front of a crowd in a cramped space with a number of obstacles. Skill, pure skill. Loved it.

You won`t get any BS from me as you are entitled to your opinion, as everyone is. But a popped link or jammed servo can happen to any pilot at any time, not just top display pilots. I agree though, it is a dangerous hobby that we are involved in and people just need to take as much care as possible and personally speaking, I think the majority of people in this hobby do and most of all, understand the risks involved.

                    Let's hope he's not using a DX8 PMSL.

Just joking, impressive, a little too confined for my liking though!

It also kind of bugs me that he never goes to collect the model himself, especially when he decks it. I wonder if he pay's his "caddy" or are they just groupies? lol

Thats the best clip of him ive seen flying ever!.
F*cking incredible, apart from 'oh my god', I was speechless.
3/4 through the flight he really pushed it. Fav part was 2:46
A little confined and a few 'just imagine if he dumbed thumbed there' moments.

Not everyones style but f*^%ing hell that was good.

                              That was exactly my point.

Perhaps considering their position in the hobby they should try to set a better example because people will copy them.
