It was cut short unfortunately, we both couldn't see a bloody thing. Fog plus nitro smoke equals oh bollocks there it is before it hits the deck. I spent ages on those night blades too A few tweaks next year and it'll be reet, I could hear Rob Turnbull bellowing with laughter from the flightline

That looks awesome fun! I wish I had come along to watch.
Seems like rockets and projectile fireworks are the way to go...anything that is brighter than the heli and clouds it in smoke.....
Hmmm.
How did you light them? A spare channel, a brushed ESC and a glowplug??

No a Dave designed ignition system from a spare channel, works a treat. We started off with 2 Rx's bound to a spare Tx and someone else set them off but this year we had them on our Tx's

I have to say much kudos to Dave and Baz , the perpetration on the models was second to none !
The fireworks huge ,......
The respect from all there was epic ,.....
however the sight of a dead heli firing off fireworks in the fog. Was like something out of ET !
they knew they had no hope but still flew !

great show but i cant help wonder if its just that bit too dangerous not being in control of the fireworks.
