  • Flybarless Unit for Nitro

Unsure as to what flybarless unit I should use on a 50.size nitro.

I've always used the AR7200BX and it's been great in flight, no problems at all, but I heard that when on nitro they can play up due to vibrations. I flew a nitro yesterday that was equip with a BX and it seemed fine.

Other options are the MSH Brain or the GT5, but I know nothing about either of these.

Shall I just stick with the BX ?

    Cheers

I have 8 AR7200bx all are in nitros ranging from os 37 to ys 120
All are fine with no probs
In My opinion If you are familiar with the AR7200bx stick with it
They are a good unit and easy to set up
      Cheers Tom !!

Vbar Silverline = zero issues! I've moved completely now from Beast to vbar and its just better. However, ive seen several nitros running Beastx, 50 and 90 size, also with no issues so if you have a 7200bx and like it and don't want to spend the money use what you've got and try it.
Personally though, I'd sell the 7200 and buy a Silverline as its just brilliant.

Adie used AR7200BX on his 600n no problems. Decent unit, decent price and tidy instal. Plus we all know them inside out at the field so can help with any issues. As long as you choose a good location to mount shouldn't be a problem.

I actually prefer beast over vbar, just a lot less hassle to adjust at the field, I have never had any issues on a nitro running the ar7200bx unit, in fact they are on all my helis now nitro and electric

                BX it is then

I suppose there's no difference between setting a BX up on a Nitro to setting up on an Electric ?

I don't think there's any difference just in terms of nitro vs electric. But in the case of the original BX one difference would be that between installing on something small like a 450 or 500 where one power connector via the ESC is enough, you generally want more than one power input from the reg or BEC to the BX as the servos will draw more amps.

The only other thing of note is that Vbar and Brain have a built in Governor wheaeas BeastX does not.

Another thumbs up for the Ar7200BX - I use one on my 700N and it's brilliant. I've also got a GT5 as well by the way (although haven't tried it on a nitro, only a TRex 500). It's excellent as well but it does require quite a bit of tweaking and is much more complex to set up than a Beast X (which requires zero tweaking in my experience).
