  • spektrum telemetry

hi. i'm running a century predator with a wren 54 turbine with speky dx8 telemetry system.
i'm trying to setup the rpm sensor to give a headspeed reading from the upper swash plate,it works ok but i can't get a sensible reading. there are four pick up points per 1 revolution of the head, the signal is clean ,a single red flash from the led as the steel balls pass the sensor.but i'm getting readings of several thousand rpm just by giving the head a good spin by hand, clearly this is wrong.
now,my question is ; what is the ratio setting for? and what should i set? i have the poles setting inhibited as i believe that relates only to electric motors rpm detection.is that correct?
i've tried a ratio of 4:00:1 ,ie four signals per single revolution but that gives a high reading.
i'm stumped.there is no mention of ratio setting in my dx8 manual.
    does anybody have any ideas?
    thanks,ian
