  • Help! my heli just spins in circles

Ive just bought my 1st heli (raptor G2) for some reason when i take off the tail just starts spinning when i try to correct this by pushing the stick the opposite way its stays the same or possibly gets worse. took it to a hobby shop, they think the gyros no good but werent 100% sure so wouldnt do the repair. ive tried the reverse switch on the gyro but didnt do a thing . any help please before i go and waste more money on a new gyro and go insane!

    Hi there and welcome!

Do a search for Finless Bobs video's over at HeliFreak.

Sounds like either the Rudder channel on the TX is needing reversed or you need to set the tail up mechanically first.

Either way Finless videos are really good and should help you sort it out.

It's in the menu of the Tx.

Just be aware that your rudder direction may be correct, & your gyro direction could be reversed

        * EDIT * I should have read the full post, yep more than likely your rudder channel is reversed (channel 4) as James said.

What type of gyro do you have ?? some of them need 15 seconds before you get control of the servo. if you move the model in this time they dont start up properly.

How to test your gyro ....
Turn on the radio and then the model. Watch the light on the gyro this normally flashes for a bit then goes solid on.... (if its an esky one this can be 15 seconds)

Dont touch the tx, Dont start the engine, Pick up the heli by the blade grip and rotate the tail boom clockwise the tail servo should react by moving its arm towards the front of the heli and anti clockwise towards the back of the heli. That is the test fot the gyro function and tense. (working the right way)

sounds to me like you need to find somebody to help you mate. these things can go wrong very quickly if you get it in the air and it aint set up right! just flicking switches and trying is asking for disaster. if you reverse elevator it'll come straight back at you. BE CAREFULL.
