  • Mixing

Having slightly upgraded my Tx. (Futaba 8S) Can someone advise re-mixing in Throttle with Elevator/Aileron or to the Rudder for the best response.

I'm just to start (weather permitting) doing circuits with a Sceadu 50

    Cheers

hi flybar the best way to over any mixing problems is get a good throttle govenor like the revlok 10 or 20 and get a good gyro like the solid g from curtis problem solved

Without a governor/limiter, you need two mixes. One aileron to throttle and one elevator to throttle. You can also add a rudder to throttle mix if you think the heli needs it.

Start with a 10% mix and work up from there - just make sure that whichever way you push the cyclic stick, the throttle always increases. You don't want it increasing with right aileron and decreasing with left aileron. It must increase with all 4 cyclic inputs (forwards, backwards, left and right), and similarly for the rudder if you go down that route as well.

For simple hovering about and gentle circuits with a Sceadu 50, you won't need much, if any at all. 10-15% will be plenty. When (if?) you get into 3D, then it can be more advantageous to head on up to 40% or there abouts, but by this time you will presumably be using a governor or limiter anyway. Even with a governor, some throttle mixing can help it to work more efficiently in some cases.
