I think they won't work as the DX7 is DSM2, not DSMX.
If anybody knows otherwise, please comment.

Hey.

Yes, these will work fine with the DX7. Even though they are DSMX sats, they are backwards compatable and will bind to the DX7 in DSM2 mode.

I would advise two sats, even for a 450 size model I'd use two minimum and indeed Spektrum advise two sats on anything larger than a 450 model.
