  • Have I been sent the wrong transmitter

    Hi Guys,

I'm a bit new to RC, so one of the first things I've purchased is a transmitter, a FS-TH9X. This can be bought in 2 model versions, Mode 1 or Mode 2. After asking around, it seemed Mode 2 was the way to go, so that's what I ordered. However, the transmitter I received, when I turn it on, says mode 1. What confuses me though, is when I go into the menus, and go into stick set option, it says it's mode 2. Can anyone tell me if I've been sent the wrong transmitter? (if it helps, the stick on the right seems to always return to centre, where the stick on the left does not).

    Any help appreciated.

    Matt

If the stick on the right is sprung to centre and the stick on the left is free to move up and down but sprung left-right you have mode 2.

Cool, thanks Darwil. It sounds like I have a Mode 2 then, so all good. Thanks for helping me identify it correctly.

I have the same TX using it on a Trex 500. You can change modes fairly easily apparently but I have never done it. Also heaps of other mods you can do. I brought mine for use with a sim in the beginning but quickly got addicted and got a heli. Investing in a sim is a very good start.

It sounds like a Mode 1Transmitter that was swapped over for you so all good . They probably never had a mode 2 in stock mate . Rob

Does the display show the model currently selected, and if so, could it be displaying model 1, but as Mode 1 (no L on the word model) maybe??
                  Cheers,

Aaah, robgt, you are spot on. Changing the selected model changes the number. So it looks like its telling you the selected model not the mode. Thanks for the suggestion.

Upgrade the firmware to er9x and make it a much better TX. See 9xForums.com for lots of info
