Spektrum AR9000 help

Hi peeps
Ive bought a DX6i and it came with the AR9000 RX, ive done the binding set-up and the two orange lights are on!
but its not working any of the servos.
My question is does it need the external ariel? like in the link?

Yes, you will need an external satelite.

Ive ordered a new external satellite, so hope it will work

hi lee, if like my ar9110 it wont work unless you have 3 sats plugged into it but i may be proved wrong, and just a queary but why would you want to run a 9 channel rx on a 6 channel tx
