    Hi All.

I own a Futaba 50th Edition TX, which until I shelved the hobby a couple of years ago had given good service.

My son has now adopted my Raptor and together we are going to learn to fly again, however the settings in the TX are all gone

I've received several coments that the 50th Edition TX really isnt an ideal radio for use with a raptor, could anyone offer any advice or guidence on the selection of a new radio, I'd like to avoid changing the RX if possible.

    Many thanks,

I learned to fly (on a Raptor) using the very same Tx - it works fine, although it is limited to 3 point pitch and throttle curves.

If you're buying new radio gear, I would suggest buying the Spektrum DX7 2.4 ghz gear.
    Cheers,

when I first got back into the hobby the Raptor I bought was set up on one of those as well. it flew ok for starters.

But like Rob said if your gonna get serious then 2.4 all the way
      All the best

The alternative is a Futaba T7C. Great tx for the money (Inwood models - £100) and some are available 2nd hand and it'll work with your Futaba rx.
Cheapest Spektrum I've seen (and bought) is £180ish with an AR7000 rx. Also from Inwoods.
        Cheers, Lee.
