You shouldn't be using the thick pad - the thin one is much better for anything apart from a turbine or large nitro.
You should definitely have the swash leveled, the FBL controller can't correct for this - a proper mechanical setup is mandatory. The fact that when you increase the gain the heli moves more to the left, suggests it is a vibration problem and not down to setup. I wouldn't recommend lying until this is sorted.
I have spoken to Joachim about this, and he confirmed that it was down to vibrations - I even sent the HC3SX back to Germany for inspection. As I said try taking the blades off, and spooling up. When toggling the SL mode, the swash should not tilt to the left/right like in the following video (of my logo 400)
By the way I think that the Hor. gain and head gyro ('rigid') gain are two separate things. The hor.gain adjusts the 'strength' of the SL. when set to a +ve value then it will level the heli, and when set to a -ve value it will level the heli and control pitch too. I am also using a DSX11, and yes you can set the hor. gain to be adjusted by a switch.
I don't actually have a HC unit with me atm (they are both in Germany), but if you go to the diagnose page, there should be a bar that says hor. gain, and you can see the value from there.
Thanks for you reply. I have watched your video, and it was very useful. I will try tonight.
If this is caused by vibrations, how do I identify the source of vibration? Be course this heli was on Align 3G units, and was always flying fine. I have mounted the unit on top of Trex 500's tail gear box where I did mount the Align 3G sensor, do you think this could be the problem?
Unfortunately the place you have the unit mounted on the Logo400 is about the worst for vibration. This heli needs the FBL unit mounted below the main drive on a special wedge mount that corrects for the offest between the shaft and the bottom frame.
I found this out the hard way with Mikado's VBars.

Try mounting the HC somewhere else - it can go in almost any orientation. Also, the thin pad will definitely help. I don't know about what's causing the vibrations.
I gave up on the logo tbh as I couldn't get rid of the vibration and the crash cost was too high - I'm now selling it and going to put the HC3SX on a gaui X2

I have tried your suggestion, which take the blade off, run the motor and flip to Hor.mode, the swash plate does not move unless I tilt the heli. I means does not make the movement like on your video, but it's will have a few very tiny movement.
Also, I re-mounted the HC on the Gyro tray instead of on top of tail gear box, with thin gyro pad. will do a test fly and a update tomorrow.
