  • trex 600e pro motor pinion bearing

im fairly new and this model is my second but i keep trashing the motor pinion bearing in the 600e pro and cannot figure it out,

I have removed and replace everything to no avail,

i did change ESC settings to lower the headspeed and that only delayed the issue, so ifure i must have done something wrong but i cannot figure it out...any ideas...PLEASE.

    600E motor bearing

Just a thought is the motor pushed up to the maingear a bit to hard ?
I use just light finger pressure on the motor pinnion then tighten up the motor mounting allen bolts

Most likely cause if you mean the counter bearing below the pinion is that you have dropped the pinion too low and it's pressing against the bearing this will kill it,saw a 700e one fail in 30 secs flying because ot this.

Before you tighten the grubscrew ensure there is a small gap between pinion and bearing.

        Thanks all, for the posts.

i do mean the counter bearing below the pinion just like the 700e, unfortunately there is about a 2mm gap so it cannot be pinion itself, and secondly due to the way the model is you have no lateral movement at all in the position of the pinion and main gar but there is plenty of backlash and there seems to be no high spots.

I did drop the head speed and this helped, next im going to put my last bearing in but first im going to take it to bits and lube it like ive never lubed anything in my life.

Just a thought, is the main shaft dead straight? If its even just a bit out, then at speed this will cause impressive stresses on the bearing.

          Cheers,
          Simon

went to my club today and it looks like its sorted, and yes it was my fault, took the whole thing to bits and put back together, with an expert at STUFF, as previously stated make sure the pinion is not bearing down on the bearing, two flights ..well two hovers of around 11mins tops and all is well....ok off now to watch top gear. thanks for all your help i should have listened.
