  • Fuel Consumption

For the first time, I used the stopwatch on my new tranny, and a tank of fuel lasted me 9:15.

Its an OS 50 Hyper, and its around a turn and 3/4 out. I imagine I'm running way too rich or is this about right?

I'm just pootling about venturing into forward flight, figure 8's etc so really only running at around 60% throttle.

Yes it's still very rich at that setting.
My 55 is about a click or two over 1 turn.

Im around 95 -100 on the head and 50ish max on the back plate on mine ATM

I could run abit more if i want but the power is great for my level of flying

                    Spanner,

We run OS55 in TREX600 FBL (BeastX) for testing currently and we are using OPTIFUEL 20% (SLV) and that is returning approximately 10 miniutes between fuel stops leaned bang on the nose. The schedule is hard 3D for the whole period including all the power hungry stuff. Head temps arround 90 and backplates very cool around 45 a nd very consistent. So you should be getting a little better on the times as its a Hyper 50 not 55 (SLV is more econimic as it happens anyway).

You are right to break it in rich in my view.
