  • Cant work out H & J on Beast X

    Sorry peeps..

I have tried and tried for the last few hours and been searching and searching on the net.. I cant set my the Beast X properly? I've gone through the manual and every (unusable for me) post about it.

Your probably going to laugh.. but I cant get Setup H & J right.. I trying to get the bloody sub trim to 0- and stay there but I must be doing something to bypass it.. and also the swashplate mixing, none off the Red LED section seems to work the servo's right?

Its seriously gave me a headache Can someone help my plea

Did you reset your TX to default settings, linear pitch curve,no sub trims -100 to +100 atv`s,NO CCPM mixing in the TX.

You do not need to be adjusting stuff in the Tx for H and J its all done by just moving the elevator and rudder sticks and observing the LED`s/servos actions.

How do you mean, trying to get the subtrim to 0?

Do you understand how to move the individual servo arms to get the centres for zero pitch(if the horns dont go on at 90deg on the splines)

      Simple way

Get into menu H,put collective stick at centre for 0 deg pitch.(pitch curve is right for this yes)
The three LED colour options relate to the three servos
Put the horns on as close to 90 deg as poss if they need adjustment, use rudder to select the colour for the correct servo and move elevator stick up or down until its level, repeat as necessary.

I then normally check the swash is level and then refit the head and set it for 0 deg pitch so everythings neutral.

      Menu I

Just keep toggling left rudder until you get the right colour for your swash, then there are 4 possible options within this colour to get the servos working together for pitch so move rudder then try pitch until they all work together. After that use Tx servo reverse to get pitch the right way, swash up i assume and also elevator and aileron.

      Menu J

Set centre stick zero pitch, blades down the boom, stick a pitch guage on.Should be zero at this point.

Move aileron right and the swash will start to tilt, keep moving and checking until you get 6 degrees, the LED should be Blue, job done.

I didnt start a new model.. I just resetted everything apart from my Gov settings which is plugged into Aux2, would this affect the set up?

        Hi Chris,

I'm not adjusting it on the Tx. Sorry, what I meant was for Menu H, When I'm using the rudder stick to get the swash level (to 0-) How am I saving my input? If I keep scrolling or take my finger off the rudder stick.. the servo keeps travelling upwards? or if I keep my finger on the stick and move onto the next menu setup I. Also when I'm in Menu I, (pls dont laugh) I need red LED for 120? Its blinking three times for the swash to move linear for me or have I got the wrong setting?

When I've thought I've sorted it. Its not as I'm geting a purple light when I'm exiting the menu system. And my stick inputs are slow and very delayed, the servos are still travelling when I'm putting no stick movement?

I might have a solution, RapidGaz just offered his phone services.. I think that will be an easier route.

Thank you for your responses guys, very much appreciated!

Eddie, When you setup a new model for the BeastX unit you choose "1 Servo" or single servo.

          Not 3 servos 120° CCPM

On my 600N just now it was red double flash then i had to reverse elevator and aileron servos.
Not going to swear yours is the same. I've also got the beastx unit with pins forwards and plugged my channels as in the pic by servo rather than horn position (antiortation bracket is forwards but elevator servo is aft)

My nuisance is that i was going to swap out for 6-arm-start futaba horns but they do bind with the balls inboard middle hole... so I'm going to put the align wheel back on and see how close to the 6 degs I am..'cos otherwise i'e got to move the balls outboard on the stars AND the bellcranks.. so I'll try it first before changing any more horns... a chance my RJX head configuration will work (but not banking on it)

A phone call is probably a better idea for sure.

It saves the settings in realtime so you dont have to do anything extra.

Sounds like you are getting confused,a purple status LED on exiting the menu back to flight mode means the tail gyro part is in rate mode, blue means heading hold.( page 15 of the manual)

If you put it into H setup and do nothing ,nothing will happen,if you briefly touch the rudder stick and release the LED will change colour for the servo ready to be adjusted.Just moving elevator up or down will raise or lower the arm of the servo selected, when its level let go of the elevator and nothing should be happening.Touch the rudder briefly for the next servo and the process can be repeated afterwards just exit onto the next menu.

Menu I Red with 3 flashes is probably correct if the swash servos move up/down together, again it will autosave this.Ignore the swash behaviour in flight mode it will do weird things on the ground

I am sure you phone call will sort it for you,,,,enjoy
