  • Broken tail screws

    Hey guys,

As some of you know i bought a t-rex 450x a few weeks back from ebay. Probally biggest mistake i made right there. Ive had a ton of problems with it. Setting everything up earlier following finless bob videos and manuals etc i found out i have a huge problem. The 2 top screws that hold the tail tight at the back of the body had been bust through! Meaning they are no longer holding the tail tight enough and with enough vibration it will come loose.

I havent tightened these myself mainly because i didnt know what i was doing up until now - ive tried contacting ebay and the guy who sold me it but ebay wont touch it with a barge pole since its too late now, past the refund period.

I really dont know what to do, whats worrying me is this is going to cost me a bomb to fix and i really dont have any money left at the moment.

    Ive attached 2 photos

Anyone have any ideas on how i might be able to fix this without spending mass amounts of money?

Thanks in advance guys! Time to get some rest i think haha - spent 5 hours on this today, hurting my head lol.

(Btw this is an older trex, i think they dont even make the parts anymore)

Get 4 long bolts and nuts and some silightly oversize washers that will stop the bolt and nut going down into the hole... use the outside of the boom mount to make the bolts bear against.

cheepest fix i can think of...

you might not need nuts use M3 's they will tap into the plastic if you run a 2.5mm drill through it first...

          Somthing similar to this?

          Marinestore Chandlers: Machine Screw Countersunk M3 x 25mm - Pack of 4

The back block is 20mm across so i could just trim them down a bit.
