hi i was watching a vid on you tube yesterday where bert krammer i think was using the wd40 on the tail for lub.
seems like a good idea, why didnt i think of it first.
Agreed, for bearings I use lithium grease spray and then work it in by rubbing the bearings and rotating the bearings. For the belt I use silicon spray.
Both can be bought from B&Q.

Just a large can the size of WD40 that you can purchase from B&Q for about £5 I think. They do lithium grease aswell. Both of them have the red tube applicators.

Thanks for the info. Have a 3DX-500 with an annoying squeak I am trying to eradicate. Will try that silicon spray.
Puzzled about greasing the bearings. Aren't they supposed to be shielded, and lubricated for life?
Got a tube of lithium grease, and silicon grease, which would be better?
Cheers
Jeff
P.S. Can't remember where I got the Lithium grease from, but the Silicone came, of all places, from Amazon.
Comes in tube big enough for about a thousand bearings. Marketed as Servisol, only cost about a fiver, with free delivery.
hey guys ive been advised by pros to buy the general household oil from asda to use on my 450 pro! like the ones you use on sewing machines so even cheaper!great
