  • Collective/cyclic interaction?

    Hi,
Recently fitted a g force tuner head to my mini titan, and since then im having some issues with the heli. When giving a full throttle/collective input, it pulls back as if im putting in some elevator, and also seems to have some aileron/elevator interaction as well. Ive checked all the head linkages and they all seem to be accurate and correct. Do i need to completely re set the heli up with this head? Most annoying, it was flying ok beforehand! Any ideas?

My Mini-T when you give it collective it pulls swash downwards, swash moves up for negstive pitch so could it be that you've altered the swash mixing when you setup pitch travel in the same mix setting otherwise Im not sure.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Yeah Sounds Like CCPM Interaction which is normal,

What you need to do is adjust the Travel Adjustments on the Elevator so that it corrects it,

      So,

What you want to do, is have 0 throttle so that the swashplate is at its lowest position, then Move the Cylic stick in a circuilar motion a couple of times and then center the stick and check to see if the swash plate is level,

Then Increase the throttle to max so that the swashplate rises and you shoud see the elevator slightly tilted, if so adjust with travel adjustments till level, then do a cylic circle and check again, still level? good, then repeat the circuler motion at bottom stick, if level then its all set up right

      Hope this Helps

Watch ccpm setup part 1 and 2 videos. ccpm 2 is getting out the interactions .
All you need to know is right there in them 2 videos (and saves me righting an essay lol )

          Hi

My computer is to slow to download movies on dial up. On the same subject, is it normal or not for 3 new HiTec HS-65MG's to still rock the swash forwards and backwards slightly but noticeable to the eye 4-5 times during the full +10 -10 collective range after setting them up properly :- arms closest to 90deg, sub trim to 90deg, all arms the same length, level swash with rod lengths at 0, level swash with atv at +10, level swash with atv at -10

There is no binding in any linkages or head or anywhere and can notice the servo movement difference with the linkages removed. I noticed the 3 are from different batches/dates would that be enough to cause it ? or a faulty servo ? or is it normal and acceptable ?

          Thanks.

            Hello mate,

For what it's worth, I bought a set of hitec HS-65MG's after stripping the gears in one of my Protech digital servo's. After all the raves I heard about them I thought it was a no brainer.

Anyway through a full collective travel from -10 to +10 degrees my swash place "swims" up and down the bloody mast now! Far worse than with the three Protech sevo's. After seeing this appalling state of affairs I've lost all interest in my "little" heli and it now languishes at the back of the cupboard, still uncompleted. I just can't muster the interest and fly the Trex 600 instead.....

(And I thought the Protech digital servo's were bad! They are nothing compared to these Hitec's! Total crap if you ask me! Perhaps I should have gone for the digital versions instead...)

            Cheers
            Rob

Yeah Sounds Like CCPM Interaction which is normal
Which is the fault of mis-matched servos or a failing of the tx. It is only normal because of failings of the equipment. If you look at the instruction manual for the Futaba 14MZ or 12FGH it has adjustment specifically to mix out this interaction.

What you need to do is adjust the Travel Adjustments on the Elevator so that it corrects it
This doesn't cure interaction it just ensures the swash is level at its full extents. Which again is a sign that the servos are not all travelling the same distances for some reason.
