  • How tight should mains and tails be

How tight should your blades be is there a science behind this? @ present i set mine to be just tight enouth to stop them moving when extended horizontaly with the holder vertical ie heli stood on tail does any one do it differently

Main should be tightened so that when you hold the heli on its side and give a nudge that they dont fall. So slacken off until they do that and then tighten until they just hold. Tail i do by feel. You dont want them falling on their own weight but at the same time you dont want them tight in the grips.

      Good question.

On mains I set them so that when held sideways on and given a short shake downwards the blades JUST don't sink under their owm weight.

On tails, somewhere between falling under their own weight & just 'gripping' in the grips so needing a small push to get them to move.

Look forward to some expert answers.

One of the important things is to make sure ya dont have them at diffrent tensions If ya do you'll end up with one blade leading and one lagging which can cause problems/vibes.
