  • Esky Honey Bee FP & Sore Fingers

As i type right now im using only half my fingers as the rest are plastered up from rotor damage, i thought it would be better to stop it with my hand rather than the wall and pay for more parts since they only arrived an hour ago lol, right the problem i have is this, upon lift where its light on skids or in the air, it was yawing right so cured that with the tiniest amount of trim, but at same time it was also banking left pretty severely and no matter how much trim i give it it still banks left the only way to counter it is to physically bank it right which usually dont work hence the fingers, does anyone have any idea why it does this or have you had a similar experience??? i was thinking of adjusting the ring like pushrod to tilt the swashplate to the right to level it out, but it also wants setting up with gain and prop could this be a factor???
Any help is greatly appreciated and if you live in my town feel free to swing by and have a pop at it

i know it will drift/lean right anyway due to the blades spinning clockwise but the problem i have is not down to that lol as it banks the wrong way and i also noticed its tail heavy but i cant move the battery anymore forward

i checked my balance by holding the top of the rotor head lightly and rocking it to see where it stopped, if it is level there is nothing wrong, just keep practicing and use a sim, thats what i was told and im getting better ive been doing this since xmas so it will get easier

i invested in a sim named Clearview at £26 just to get the basics and am waiting on a copy of aerofly for free(both compatable with esky tx), i know phoenix is the best but im short of cash or i woulda had the one offered the other day, when i balance it using the flybar method the tail comes up short by about an inch and half so its not way out, its just annoying coz i really wanted to fly her today and i cant seem to get to thw bottom of this problem although i had considered swapping my 4 in 1 from my contra to see if it was a gyro thing, but not sure if it would work

Sorted everything out now except for the banking/drifting left, is almost like the lefthand side of the chopper is heavier than the right even though the swash etc is all level when spinning, any ideas???? Its really starting to get me down now, good news is i managed to get it to hover for about 5 seconds inches from the floor by countering the left with a bit of right stick, if it needs sorting out by someone with years of knowledge could you help please or does anyone have a Honey Bee cp2 they may sell or swap for this honey bee and a contra coastguard, both boxed etc

              Hi

From what I gather the heli is moving left as you are taking off? If this is the case, then it is normal. It is caused by the interaction of the forces from the main rotor and the tail rotor. I have a Twister FP (essentially the same heli) and I have to give it about 1/4 right on the stick as I take off to keep it from skidding left. You can only really figure out the fine trim of the heli once it is in a hover a few feet off the ground in clear air. Hovering a few inches off the ground causes 'ground effect' where the heli is buffeted by the air bouncing off the ground, making it hard to hover.

Even in a hover the heli looks to have a little lean to it.

Do you have training gear on the heli? Some people do, some don't. I used training gear to learn and it saved me from some expensive repairs...

Don't get down about it - these things usually don't fly instantly, but once you get into that stable hover...

Buzzfly FP - Too much fun.
Twister FP - Used to learn on. Now bruised and battered but still going strong.
              TRex 250 - How fast??

I dont have training gear and i guess im counting on the fact i can fly the Bee on the sim, but my right trim is all the way over and i still have to give it quarter to half stick on takeoff, i also found this heli to be a lil bit tail heavy, but im getting off the FP's, as i can somewhat fly im going for an electric CP (no point in staying FP if i have to relearn CP, may as well just go CP and learn from beginning) until im confident enough to go nitro, heard the blade 400 is pretty good but might just go with a honey bee CP2 as they have pretty good reviews and are cheaper and can take outdoor wind up to 14 mph so is pretty versatile for an indoor and it also comes in 2.4 now.

I just re-read that and it sounds like an advert do you think esky will give me a job lol.

FP's fly basically the same as CPs. You won't notice much difference until you start getting into forward flight.

If you need more 'right' trim, remove the side ball link to the swash, and lengthen the rod one turn (turn link counterclockwise), then try again. When the heli is on the ground, however, translating tendency means you'll have to give excessive amounts of right cyclic to try to keep it in one place.

                  Please, avoid the CP2.

i sorted the balance thing out i just used elastic bands to hold the battery under the 4 in 1 to better the CG, takes off alot better now, still want a cp though
