  • Anybody got this

    Combination Dx7se , Ar7100 , Align gov on a 600nsp ????

I think i have some settings wrong or something is not right ,I ask because when i spool up she just doesn't feel right and i dont trust her + the tx is so fast/sensitive , when i flew her with the dx6i she was rock solid no probs...

I have a near/perfect head setup no sub trim + -12 norm is set to -3/+12
engine run (8 tanks) but still unsure of tuning 1 full turn out , when i use the governer she farts and splutters i need to check out settings for this too (i have read that you need a Tacho to do this properly)

I have not got her off the ground since swapping to dx7 no faith so any help would be great , i have considered taking her to a shop and getting them to sort it out but then i/you dont learn wot i/you did wrong how to sort it out for next time , i still have to switch blade 400 over but i'm hoping that will be a lot easier.........

If your finding the DX7 too sensative are you using any expo, some like to use it others dont, I do depending on the model, this should desensatize the sticks near the centre and give it that solid feel again.

with the engine, I run mine then I do the back plate test I take it up running it around a little then land and with it running check to see how hot the back crank case feels, it should be no warmer than your able to keep a finger on it (obviously without causeing blisters and burns) for about 6 seconds if its completely cold then I just lean it out a click or two until I get it to where I want it. ive done this with all my 50's and its never given me a problem.

also if your getting a splutter assume its too lean, it may not be, but if you assume it is and richen it a couple of clicks your not gonna do any harm and it will tell you once you run it if your going the right way.
      All the best

Last time i tested the back plate it was barely warm so may to lean it out more , last 2 tanks used on the ground sorting radio out and getting feel for new tx , i have noticed that there is a lot of oil left on the ground....

if the backplate is cool and oil on the ground then thats a good thing looks like your running it a bit rich, the important thing ive found is if your doing adjustment do them 1 click at a time, it give you a feel for whats going on with the engine.

In this cold weather they do run cooler anyway, so take care not to lean it out too far. and remember as the weather changes then youll need to revisit your engine settings.
