  • Revlock to GV-1 Gear Ratio setting

Changing my Revlock 10 to GV-1 on my Titan to have 3 available speed modes and on/of function using 10c 2.4 Tx
Need to check the gear ratio settings on GV1, standard Rap gearing 10t pinion 85t main gear,

If I put 85 in the N1 setting and 10 in N2 should this show 8.5 in the GRT screen and be correct?

Think I 'm right but does'nt hurt to check

If you scroll through the menu of the gv1 you will come to the gear ratio screen, use the + or- button until it shows 8.50

Why are you swapping the revlock for the older GV-1? I just did the exact opposite!

Because you can't turn the revlock off to check tuning without losing a mode pos A/B
I know you can set it up in Idle up modes off the stick but setting the unit to below opperating values in normal mode seemed to throw the thing out,, for me anyway,

You have three speeds with the GV-1 and on/off switching
Plus I could'nt seem to get the revlock response right after tuning the engine, even with a good thr curve, strong winds made the engine hunt a bit.

At the end of the day I think the GV-1 is better than the Revlock overall.

the rev lock isnt perfect... no doubt there... but it is far far better than the gv1. it holds the rpm so much better! That is unless your using some weird engine/muffler combination that upsets it.

you do also need to get the throttle geometry pretty good too.

rev lock will give you the 3 speeds and on/off with a little created p mixing.

i hope you have deep pockets for when the sensor on the gv1 fails :-)

                PS, scale helis suck :-)

                  Hi Ade

Yes I know I've just had to buy a new one, the stupid plastic mount broke
                  £20 to replace it.

Re the programing on the revlock I know you can get it setup well but to be honest
I've just got fed up with having to adjust it in strong winds so I though I'd see how the GV holds up

                  Cheers

I just wrapped mine in carbon tows when the plastic cracked, soaked in CA and it worked fine until i sold the Rappy with it still fitted and working No way I was paying that for a sensor

its funny that your having problems with the rev lock. not needed to adjust mine since i fitted it... very strange.

I know, following your advice a while back I changed a faulty sensor,
ran ok for about 25 flights and started playing up again so as I have the GV1 spare thought I'd try a few flights with that and see how it goes.

Its an os hyper engine with standard Rappy pipe.
As I'm not a stick basher I'm happy with the power output, just want it smooth running without having to adjust it every other flight,
