  • Muffler Replacement Help

    Hi All,

I have noticed a hole in my muffler, and not too keen on it, from what others have told me it is a YUSA muffler but i would like to get a replacement, as it has crappy black stuff on it,

but im not sure which one is the correct one.

i am thinking of getting this from Midlands

    4475110 : Yusa 30 Heli Sport Muffler (H3721)
    Suitable Engine - O.S 32SX-37SZ. Suitable Type - Raptor/Caliber/Sceadu

it looks near to exactly the same.. tho the one i have the front is more rounded and those circular markings are closer, But it says its suitable for O.S 32 to 37, but would it work fine for a .39 Irvine? and would i have to re-tune it? if so ile get the club to do it i have no idea how to either

    Regards
    Callum,

Here is the hole on my current one

I'd say that where you should have a pressure nipple to pressurise your fuel tank

presure nipple is ontop Phil (second picture)

just block it off callum with a screw. if the threads are gone get some jb weld from your local diy store and put this on the screw before fitting it

Its a universal pipe for left or right hand mounting. It's probably spit the screw out that blocks up the hole. Fit a new one after soaking it in carb cleaner to get rid of the fuel residue. If the threads are gone tap it out a size up and fit a bigger screw/plug. Don't buy a new one unless you need to.

Just use a bit of epoxy and a slightly oversize screw

If you can't fix it, I would recommend a Zimmerman tuned pipe. I bought one for my raptor 30 and it looks good being stainless, sounds quieter, gives better performance and only cost £30 second hand!

Also its suitable for any .30-.40 engine!
