Nitro throttle cut?

hi again guys and gals,
what I was looking for is after hitting throttle hold and engine is ticking over I have tried to program a mix in my futaba 14sg to then hit another switch to cut engine but nothing seems to over power throttle hold? or is it best to after landing release hold and use trim to lower rpm to cut engine? I thought there would be another way to program a switch to cut motor while hold is on, I am a little baffled at present.

You just need to assign priorities. Add the switch and move it up to a priority above throttle hold

Are you setting it up through the Throttle Cut menu and have you selected the flight modes you want the cut to work in?
I have mine set so I can cut it in Normal and Hold

yes trying throttle cut but didn't know you had to prioritise it, only me fly's helicopters in both clubs that I belong an had no help since I started 14 months ago so still picking bits up as I go along. ;-)

If the 14SG is like the 8FG you have to tell it which conditions to allow Thr Cut to work in. For me, I've set it to only work below 20% thr in HOLD and NORM only. No good flying upside down with the potential to hit the wrong switch and accidentally cut the engine.

You shouldn't need to touch PMixes at all - it's what the cut menu is for.

yes guys, got rid of all mixes, left throttle cut at 17%, with hold on and set to hold at 15% I flick said switch and throttle drops more so all sorted and working spot on, thanks again guys for the swift reply's.
