  • hobbywing 100A esc help

    Just a quick question guys,
ive got the v3 hobbywing 100a esc and a microbeastx plus hd for my logo 550sx, im wanting to run the microbeast governor using the white signal wire from the esc, which port do i need to plug it into and is it a case of using the studiox to set the headspeed?

Are you back? I thought you'd sold up?

Anyway, that's more a Microbeast Plus question than a hobbywing one. I run the Hobbywing 100A myself in my X5, along with the Vbar governor, so I can help with ESC settings but not Microbeast ones as no one I know runs the Plus, yet.

From a quick scan of the manual, it seems you can do it all without StudioX. No idea what Studio X brings to the table, but the old Beast X software was very limited and did almost nothing other than flash firmware and let you enable a couple of features.
You have to be running single line Rx to use it (Spektrum satellites, SBus, PPM etc) and you also need an adapter cable (Order Nr. BXA76401) to connect to.

If you aren't a 3D god yet, you might as well use the built in governor on the ESC. By all accounts, it's very good, and far less hassle.

PS. If you ever want to sell that Logo 550SX, give me a shout first. Terry has one and it's epic, so I'll be after one myself next year.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Yea I did give up for a while but I was bored one weekend and got myself a 180cfx to play with and it sort of rolled on from there and I got that 550 for a bargain and went with the microbeast via you can limit the cyclic etc to make it a bit easier when it's got pro software, I'll go with the esc governor if it's easier to wire as I was planning on using a full rd rather than satellites
