Can I use Spektrum AR610 instead of a satellite?

Hi,

Was wondering if I could use the AR610 receiver that came with my DX6 instead of buying a satellite for a 450 size heli?

If so, Is there any advantage to using one or the other? My main concern is range and signal strength as I like doing big air stuff.

Is it as simple as plugging the receiver into the FBL unit as you would a satellite, with the receiver ports going un-used?

Excuse my lack of knowledge but I'm just getting back into this hobby after 10 years and things have changed since then!

You can use the AR610, but no, it doesn't connect the same way as the satellites, you would have to connect from each channel on the receiver to the FBL unit.

Range would be fine, but you'd be limited to 6 channels which can be a problem on some FBL units.
