3GX inverted setting

So mounted the 3GX 3.0 inverted in the trex 450, trying to switch the light to red by entering the set up (hold button down for 2 seconds, press 5 times to get all lights up then move rudder stick to right) light turns red with right stick movement but turn's back to green when I wait 10 seconds or press set button again?

It's been a while sine I used a 3GX but I think it will be turning green because the 3GX has exited setup mode and is back in normal flying mode.

If you go back into setup again (hold button down for 2 seconds, press 5 times to get all lights up) are you finding that the light is now red before you touch the rudder stick?. If so then the 3GX is set for inverted orientation.

Hey buddy.

As above, when the 3GX exits the setup mode the status led will revert to displaying the tail gyros current setting eg. Heading hold (green) or rate mode (red).
From memory I think if you connect the 3GX to your pc, open the align 3GX software and go to the settings tab, it will tell you if the 3GX is in normal or inverted mode. I've not used a 3GX for some time and would need to check the software again, but I think I does display this parameters setting.

Yep sus'd that out this morning, all working now, I have Ikon units in the other larger helis that are simple to set up compaired with the 3gx, I bought an ikon for the 450 but it's too big to fit inside the frame!

Oh yeah, the 3GX is a pain to setup, a bunch of lights that aren't that intuitive, plus some steps that timeout. The best doc I found to help sort through it was this 3GX quick reference:

I like how it's software says "press the set up button with the heli level" ok so the 3GX is inverted inside the heli frame and there is no way to get at it lol, you have to invent a level stand so you can get a finger under the heli lol
